CloseSD Agricultural Heritage Museum BumMobile Ornament
The BumMobile is one of the best-known elements of the Hobo Day and has led the Hobo Day Parade since 1938. The 1912 Model-T Ford was donated by Joe Weigel, a farmer from Flandreau, SD. The BumMobile is now displayed in the Hobo Day Gallery, a Hobo Day showcase room in the SDSU Student Union. The Model-T has shephered homecoming grand poobas, parade grand marshals and even a U.S. President.
The design for the ornament is based on a composite of the 1950's era images from the museums photo archive.
